Flexible fuel engine (flex engine) manufacturers in india
A flexible-fuel vehicle or dual-fuel vehicle is an alternative fuel vehicle with an internal combustion engine designed to run on more than one fuel, usually gasoline blended with either ethanol or methanol fuel, and both fuels are stored in the same common tank.
A flex-engine or dual-fuel internal combustion engine differs from conventional engines as it can run on fuels other than gasoline-like ethanol and methanol. It can be extended to a desired ethanol or methanol to gasoline ratio from the same tank (for example 85 per cent ethanol and 15 per cent gasoline).
The flex-fuel internal combustion engine system is designed to sense the alternative fuel concentration (ethanol) in the fuel. If the concentration of the alternate fuel is higher than desired, the system adjusts the engine for lean fuel combustion.
Keen to promote electric vehicles fleet as well as vehicles on alternative fuel like ethanol, Transport and Shipping Minister Gadkari has also been emphasising the need to enhance ethanol output in a bid to move towards ethanol- based transportation.
These is nothing like flex fuel, there are flex fuel engine. These engines can run on both petrol as well as ethanol mixed petrol. Technically speaking the Petrol engine which can run CNG is too a flex fuel engine.
