  • What is ESIC?

Its full name is Employees’ State Insurance Scheme, ACT 1948. All types of employees are covered under this scheme, in which all employees are given benefits for their medical benefits and employment, if the employee gets any kind of accident, then he gets the benefit.

Benefites of ESIC?

This Scheme has come into From july 1,2018.

UN-EMPLOYMENT ALLOWANCE

To take advantage of this, we have to follow the instructions given by it.

  • When you want to take advantage of this scheme, then you have to keep in mind that during this time you do not have any job.
  • You should have done ESIC contribution for 2 years in whatever company you work in.
  • Your contribution should also be deposited by the employer
  • If you have committed any such offense in your company, due to which you are fired from the company, then you cannot take advantage of unemployment.
  • If you have reached retirement age from your company, you still cannot take advantage of it.
  • If you have taken retirement by yourself then you cannot take advantage of it.
  • Your Aadhar card and bank details must be linked on the ESIC portal only then you can avail your unemployment benefits.
  • If there is unemployment and he has not got any job in 3 months, then he can take benefit of this scheme once, in which that person will be compensated in the form of cash for 3 months.
UN-EMPLOYMENT DISQUALIFICATION
  • If you have reached retirement age from your company, you still cannot take advantage of it.
  • If you have committed any such offense in your company, due to which you are fired from the company, then you cannot take advantage of unemployment.
  • You should have done ESIC contribution for 2 years.
  • During lOCK OUT.
  • Strike resorted to by the employees declared by the competent authority

Claim presentage amount

Total of 2 year salary*25%*90/730 = Claim amount

DEPENDANTS’ BENEFIT

If an employee dies in a wash accident then all his dependents will be given lifelong compensation by ESIC to meet their daily needs.

DISABLEMENT BENEFIT

If an employee is injured while working, due to which he is disabled, he lost his work ability, under this case he will be given lifelong compensation for disability benefits under ESIC.

MATERNITY BENEFIT

If a woman is pregnant then she can take advantage of this benefit till 26 weeks, under which she gets wages every month as per the ESIC Act.
And to avail this benefit women have to contribute in ESIC for 2 years.

SICKNESS BENEFIT

All women get sick during pregnancy, so they are given 4 weeks relaxation and they are also paid for that 4 weeks.

That is, that woman can take rest at home and she is allowed to take rest for 4 weeks from ESIC.

MEDICAL BENEFITS

In case an employee meets with an accident while working and is already registered with ESIC, that person is exempted for medical treatment.

And whatever the coverage amount is, it is waived off by ESIC.
