NEW DELHI: Telecom shares were trading on a mixed note in Friday’s afternoon session.
Shares of Reliance Communications (up 4.76 per cent), GTL (up 1.82 per cent), Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) (up 1.63 per cent) and Tata Communications (up 1.28 per cent) were the top performers in the index.
OnMobile GlobalNSE -2.71 % (down 2.42 per cent), Bharti InfratelNSE -2.82 % (down 2.15 per cent), Sterlite Technologies (down 2 per cent) and ITI (down 0.98 per cent) were trading with losses.
The S&P BSE Telecom index was trading 0.83 per cent down at 991.28 around 11:53 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 30.10 points at 11,811.45 while the BSE Sensex was down 94.37 points at 39,492.04.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 30 were in the red.
Shares of Adani Power, Suzlon Energy, UPL, Dish TV India, YES Bank, Indiabulls RE, PNB, Union Bank India, Ashok Leyland and Bank of India were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
